COVID CONVERSATION with Cecile Eck , Proprietress and Broker in Charge

Our guests are the backbone of our business.
Many of you have become personal friends over the years and your safety is our #1 priority as we plan to open our doors to you, our friends and summer guests.  Because we care, please note the following:

OUR FIRST COMMANDMENT:
THOU SHALT NOT COME TO THE ISLAND IF THOU (OR ANY HOUSEHOLD MEMBER) ART SICK, OR PRESENTING COVID or FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS.
We will refund your deposit or postpone your reservation to a later date.
You will not lose your money and will still be able to come.

To this end, you will be required to complete a short questionnaire prior to your arrival.
Your cooperation is much appreciated and necessary for us to welcome all our visitors!


Next, we have reviewed our practices from top to bottom and made the following operational changes:

CONTACTLESS CHECK IN
One week prior to your arrival, you will receive an email detailing arrival instructions directing you straight to your villa where your car pass (and a GREAT vacation!) awaits.

CHECK IN TIME:  4PM
We must allow ample time between rentals to thoroughly clean and disinfect villas.
For your safety - and that of all our guests -  we will not be able to accommodate early check in.

CLEANING, NOW MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER
We work with licensed, experienced local cleaning contractors who follow all CDC and WHO industry guidelines for COVID cleans.  In addition to regularly performed tasks, all touch areas and surfaces will be wiped and disinfected (light switches, remotes, door handles, cabinet knobs and pulls) at the end of every clean.  Cleaners are screened before reporting for work and will wear masks and gloves during their shifts.  Each villa will be sprayed with an industrial bactericide/virucide after cleaning and allowed to sit vacant for as long as possible between guests.

High Tide Restoration & CleaningADDITIONAL CLEANING OPTION
If you are interested in an even more in-depth cleaning of your villa, please contact High Tide Restoration & Cleaning for a quote on their services.  Cost ranges from $200-$300 depending on the size of villa, and will delay your check-in time by approximately 3 hours.

LINENS & BEDDING
All decorative comforters and pillows have been removed.  Each bed is made with freshly washed and sanitized linens, 2 pillows (in protective covers) and one blanket.  Everything you touch will be clean, including the mattress cover.  If you like to snuggle under a comforter or are cold natured, please bring blankets with you.  We are providing what we can ensure to be clean and will not have extras in the villa.

POOLS ARE STATE-REGULATED
   ... so we cannot guarantee that you will have pool access during your stay.  You will have unlimited beach access but we encourage you to bring your own chairs (rentals may or may not be available) and plan on spending as much time as you can enjoying the beach.

CANCELLATIONS:  MORE FLEXIBLE
If you cannot come and let us know at least two weeks before your scheduled arrival we will refund your deposit.  Within two weeks of arrival, we will try to reschedule or credit and will work with you as best we can.

LOCAL GUIDELINES AND MEDICAL RESOURCES
We will have all the information you need regarding local guidelines and expectations for communities and locales, openings/closings, etc. available to you on our website.  Local medical resources will be provided, as well as COVID updates from the Town of Hilton Head.  Click here for details.
MASKS ARE REQUIRED IN ALL COMMERCIAL ESTABLISHMENTS ON THE ISLAND,
BRING YOUR MASKS AND PLAN TO WEAR THEM!


THINK LIKE A LOCAL
Whether at the beach, grocery store, golf course or restaurant, you must practice smart distancing and wear face masks whenever possible.
Locals go to the beach at low tide, or when they know it won't be as crowded.
Locals expect to wait at a waterfront restaurant for dinner, so they go for lunch instead;  or they make reservations and request outside tables.
Locals don't shop at the closest grocery store;  they frequent those that are quieter and less crowded. 
Locals know how to avoid throngs of people, and since we're Locals, we're here to help you do the same!

OUR SECOND COMMANDMENT
THOU SHALT INFORM US IF ANYONE IN YOUR PARTY EXHIBITS COVID OR FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS WHILE YOU ARE HERE.
We will assist you with your plan of action regarding local medical resources and next steps.

IN SUMMARY,
We will do our VERY best to ensure that you check into a clean, sanitized villa with which you are completely comfortable.  We hope that you will come enjoy the island, practice social distancing while here (hint: if you can smell your neighbors' sunscreen, you are too close), and find a much needed respite from the "real" world.  We are ready when you are!!
